English Holidays

by admin on August 15, 2010

There are some challenges to the modern tourist. Facing different cultures and ideas is one of them. The world looks a bit smaller now that it’s a lot easier and also a lot cheaper to fly everywhere. But this means that you will have to face things that are different from what you’re used to, as different cultures means different standards. And if this isn’t much of a problem when you travel anywhere in the so-called Western World, it is a bit tricky when you go outside the Western comfort bubble.

What many people choose to do is to pick holiday destinations where people speak a language that they can understand, to minimize the cultural shock. In our case, it would be English. Finding places where people can speak English is easy, but if it’s not the official language, you may still run into situations where you may face some language barriers. So, accordingly, the solution for this is to choose countries where English is, if not the official language, at least one of them. if you go on Barbados holidays, for example, the people there may speak another language among themselves, but they all speak English, as it is the official language and the language of government.
