You should also be sure that you have a full supply of any medication your family is on. You should also take note of the nearest hospital to your hotel or place of accommodation. Traveling can cause all kinds of health risks, especially in kids. New environments come with new climates, insects, etc. and adjusting to this in such a short period of time may cause some scares. Be sure your kids are well protected, and you are familiar with the area so, in the event of an emergency, you can get where you’re going fast.

• Always have a list of emergency numbers and addresses kept in an orderly file. If you have a travel journal or a planner with you then make sure that you have a copy of all these as well as the area code for your home country so that you will be able to still call your family and friends even if you are away. Also, if you are going to stay in a country wherein people are not that well versed in English, then it is best that you have important address and phrases written down to serve as your guide in the event that you would be needing their help and they are not able to understand you.
• Another important travel reminder is to always have cash – in the country’s local currency – some of your local currency as well as credit cards. Make sure that you are always organized when it comes to your money and that you keep in a safe place but not all together. This way, just in case a very unfortunate thing happens and you suddenly lost your wallet, not all your cash and credit cards will be lost with it.
